Lead Digital Photo Lab Technician – Chatsworth California ~ Main Lab
Qualified Applicant must have a minimum of 1+ year related experience.
(Not looking for photographers interested in temporary work.)
Candidates with recent schooling or vocational training of photography and photoshop technique may apply.

Applicable Skills and knowledge required:
Commercial mini-lab equipment both film and digital equipment.
Personal Computer basics, Windows and or Apple.
Photoshop image corrections and size adjustments
Computer network file management and back-up
Color matching, visual corrections, adjustments of color, contrast, chromatic saturation, density, sharpness, and overall photographic image appearance.
Digital image file types, resolution, pixel count, file conversion and transformation skills.
Digital image file mathematics and general understand of dpi, ppi, lpi, etc.
Flat bed scanning techniques and file conversion.
PC knowledge of creating or burning CD and or DVD of digital photographic files.
General Responsibilities:
Digital / Film processing lab technician – Provide one-hour film or digital photo print services using state of the art Noritsu digital lab equipment. This consists of daily setup, operation, machine maintenance, and general cleaning of all lab machines. Processing C41 color film, E-6 slide handling and mounting, scanning film to prints, digital files, CD’s, DVDs, and large display prints.
Harvesting internet orders for prints from digital media. Requires use of Windows pc to manage multiple order per day, by adjusting color, density, crop, file resize, file re-naming, and file back-up thru mostly an automatic software program.
Customer assistance by phone support with digital file management and order tracking.
General Lab Tech duties – Perform standard photo lab back room operations such as but not limited to: handling and mixing of light photographic chemicals, trimming final print sizes and packaging, stocking supplies, manual pricing of completed orders and electronic job tracking by use of pc.
Photo Keepsakes Dept – Create photo books, photo albums, calendars, photo greeting cards, photo book markers, photo gift tags, and more in-lab from film or digital files. This includes printing digital imaging files, pdf files, and more from our double sided laser printer. Using book binding equipment to create photo books and calendars.
Prepare digital files for uploading to out-source services for creating special photo keepsakes items, such as photo art, coffee mugs, mouse pads, blankets, pillows, shirts, sports balls, photo plates, and more. Require file size adjustments and adding text messages to items. Quality control inspection after product arrives from the out-source service provider before the product is sold to the customer.

Qualifications:
Proven recent sales experience in consumer electronics at retail.
Strong general retail business financial transactional knowledge and experience.
Strong organizational, written, and communication skills.
Photographic education or vocational training and or real world experience.
Self motivated, driven, high energy and enthusiasm a plus.
Strong customer relations skills, ability to listen, learn, reason, and find solutions.
Ability to lead by example sales associates and support staff.
Ability to absorb new product information and train sales staff.
Ability to prioritize product highlights and benefits for sharing useful knowledge.
Past, Present and ongoing hands on photography experience and education a must.
